Founders presenting a startup pitch as a business hypothesis in front of a small audience

A Pitch Is Just a Hypothesis Wearing a Suit

Most founders treat a pitch as a performance — the right slides, the right story arc, the right moment to pause for effect. But a pitch that only impresses an audience hasn’t done its real job. The real job is to show, out loud, whether a customer problem exists, whether your solution actually addresses it, and whether anything you’re saying is backed by more than conviction. When a pitch fails, it’s rarely because the idea was bad. It’s because nobody in the room could see the problem clearly enough to judge the solution at all.
